This weekend was the KCYC Port Townsend trip. Here’s a selection of boats and other interests from the trip. Weather was beautiful. Friday night in particular, there was minimal haze giving a very clear view of Mt Rainier, providing an excellent backdrop for many photos.
This tree, “Tree of Life” aka “Tree Root Cave” has amazingly viewable roots “seemingly supplying the tree with life despite having no soil” so named because it appears to be immortal. https://www.thekalalochlodge.com/explore/olympic-national-park/tree-of-life
Built in 1943 by the Puget Sound Boatbuilding Company of Tacoma, Washington as the TP-229 for the United States Army. In 1947, the tug was acquired by Young Brothers Limited of Honolulu, Hawaii. This was a trip inside the Amazon Spheres, enjoying the wonderful botany.
In addition to the Butterfly Gardens, we went to the Butchart Gardens. There is more beauty than can be captured by photos.
A visit to Victoria Butterfly Gardens August 5th gave me some great photo opportunities. Sadly I was only able to capture a few of the exhibits, but very worthwhile!
