A room built for this
Nothing about your session depends on the weather, or on what time you can get away from work. A seven o’clock appointment in December looks exactly like eleven on a Saturday morning in June.
That is what a studio is for: the light is decided rather than discovered. It is also why evenings and weekends are possible at all — and why the picture you booked is the picture you get.
A wood floor, two sets of ceiling-mounted backdrops, and room enough to move around in. There is a daylight option for the portraits that want it.
The light
Lighting set for the picture you are actually after — a headshot that has to match your colleague’s, a portrait that should feel warm, a product shot that has to be repeatable next quarter. Lighting gives creative control to give that flattering Hollywood look.
The space
A makeup desk, and a private changing area behind a curtain. A place to hang your coat and outfits. A kitchenette and bathroom through the west door, shared with one other small business. Your music selection playing, because sitting in silence while someone photographs you is nobody’s idea of a good hour.
The time
Sessions are booked so that nobody is waiting on the room. Evenings and weekends by appointment — the studio is available when your office isn’t.
Sessions start at $90
Twenty minutes to an hour and a half, depending on what you need. I typically reply within one working day.
